5 Fun DIYs to Try with your Kids this Summer
Summer is filled with activities for kids but parents are still bound to hear the dreaded “I’m bored” from their kids from time to time especially when it’s too hot for them to go play outside. This is why, we have compiled a list of fun, creative, and budget-friendly DIYs you can do with your kids this summer at home.
Bookmarks
This is an excellent DIY to try whether your child is a book-worm or you’re trying to encourage them to read more. A handmade bookmark will definitely compel your little ones to pick up a book.
What you’ll need:
-Craft paper

-A glue stick

Ice Painting
Ice painting is a cool and fun way to beat the heat. A perfect activity for all the creative kids out there, it can give them freedom to create art with ice! All the supplies you’ll need are listed below:
- Ice Tray
- 1Tsp Flour
- Food Coloring
- Popsicle Sticks
- Paper
Directions:
- Fill your ice tray with water then empty the water into a bowl.
- Whisk the flour into the water so that the ice has a less watery consistency.
- Pour the flour water 4 blocks at a time into the ice tray then into another bowl.
- Do this 4 times into 4 bowls for 4 colors.
- Add your food coloring to these bowls.
- Now pour the color flour water into the ice mold so that you have 4 ice blocks of each color.
- Put your popsicle sticks into the color water and put the tray in the freezer. This will take about 6-7 hours.

Another great way to keep kids engaged is to let them paint their old shoes. All you need for this activity is a pair of old shoes and a set of marker or sketch pens.
